THE FIRST SESSONS (CCUB 1062)
1st November, 2022
🌸بسم الله الرØمن الرØيم🌸
السلام عليکم ورØمة الله وبرکاته
First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to Allah S.W.T for allowing us to breathe until now. Alhamdulillah, in semester 1 (2022/2023), I was able to take Usrah 2 as one of my courses, and it was a wonderful chance since it taught me something that I can use to my own life, specifically, how to cope with the pressures of giving a presentation or giving a public speech.
Alhamdulillah, there are various things I have learned through Usrah 2 sharing sessions that have significantly helped me. And now I'd like to share some of the information that was provided during the sessions.
For your information, in the first class it was done online with a tentative taaruf session & ice breaking activities to get to know each other with our friends and also our beautiful Naqibah. The Naqibah asked us all to introduce ourselves such as name, dear, where do you live, hobby and so on. Next, continue to our first topic is “Acquisition of Hikmah from Ibadah”. Naqibah is very detailed in explaining the wisdom from worship that makes it easy for me to understand.
The lesson I got in the first class is:
On the authority of Omar bin Al-Khattab, who said : I heard the messenger of Allah salla Allah u alihi wa sallam say :
"Actions are but by intention and every man shall have but that which he intended. Thus he whose migration was for Allah and His messenger, his migration was for Allah and His messenger, and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that for which he migrated."
related by Bukhari and Muslim.
And this is the positive values from Ibadah:
1) Setting the right niyyah (intention)
Every muslim must have the intention to perform all actions, especially ibadah for the sake of Allah. The intention must be sincere so that the practice performed can be acceptable by Allah. Besides, every muslim also must have a sincere intention in performing ibadah to Allah in order to get His pleasure.
"Innamal a'malu binniyat"
2) Applying the right amal/ibadah (practices)
The right practice/amal/ibadah is the practice mentioned by Allah in the Qur’an and also the practice that Prophet Muhammad showed to his ummah to follow. Among the practices taught by the Prophet Muhammad are the pillars of worship/salah(solat) and pilgrimage/hajj.
3) Internalising the ihsan (positive virtues)
Ihsan in worship occurs when Muslims worship Allah as if Allah is watching them. Plus, the worship performed must be earnestly to attain the level of beautiful and perfect worship desired by Allah.
